About the Park

Pacific Community Park is one of the larger parks here in Clark County Washington. The park is home to the Dakota Memorial Dog Park, an 8 acre off-leash area for dogs to run, play, and socialize. Pacific Community Park also contains a 1.4mile looped path perfect for walking/running, two half basketball courts, a small playground, covered picnic tables, large restrooms, drinking fountains, ample parking, a 10,000 sq. ft. extreme sports area, and a Natural Gardens area that showcases our local plant life.

The Dakota Memorial Dog Park, named in honor of a Vancouver Police Department canine who was killed while tracking a suspect in 2007. The park is one of the four off leash dog parks here in Clark County, all of which are run by the local nonprofit, DOGPAW (Dog Owners Group for Park Access). In recent months, all four parks have been in danger of being closed down. The Columbian released an article in July that describes how the park is facing funding and management issues. The Columbian article can be seen here, and provides further information on the issues the park has been facing.
